Over the past few years, I've become a bit of a tallow balm person.
I've tried the small-batch jars, the whipped ones, the honey balms, the beeswax balms, the expensive "luxury" ones, and the viral brands everyone keeps recommending.
At this point, I've used over 20 different tallow balms.
And after a while, you start noticing something:
A lot of them are basically the same balm in a different jar.
Beef tallow. Honey. Beeswax. A few oils. Maybe a scent blend to make it feel more polished.
There is nothing wrong with that.
Some of those balms are fine for basic moisture.
But once I tested them side by side, the real question became:
Which ones actually made my skin look and feel better — and which ones just left me shiny?
So for this 2026 review, I picked 6 popular tallow balms and ranked them by the things I wish I had checked before spending money on so many jars.
